The Heltec LoRa32 v3 and Wireless Tracker both seem to suffer from a limited Bluetooth range. In my experience unless you are in the same room you won't get a stable connection.
It appears that the small coil antenna is the cause of this problem. A workaround is to remove the coil antenna and replace it with a small length of wire.
Do this at your own risk!
Using a soldering iron, heat the back of the coil's connection and remove it from the board.
I find it easier to not try and clear the hole - instead apply heat again and push through a piece of solid core wire around 40mm long. A bit of fresh solder will help it flow.
Now clip the wire flat to tidy up the solder side of the board. Straighten the wire up and trim the length to 29mm from the top of the board.
